Three Wise Men - Color Edition
Although I intended to create a holiday piece with Lutto as the centerpiece, this piece took on a life of its own from the very beginning. Rather than attempt to force my original idea onto the paper, I just let the figures take shape. Once outlined, I went one step further and decided to change materials from charcoal, as I would normally have done since I was working on paper, to acrylic paint (I have a habit of mismatching materials so I didn’t hesitate to continue).
I have a more than a few versions of black, white, and grey tubes of paint because I can’t pass an art supply store without coming home with some treasure or other. Among the tubes I found a few treasures that together added something special in the hint of blue and crystal whites that in combination proved to me yet again that there are always opportunities for new beginnings with mysteries yet to be revealed.
